Gaya is one of the most sacred cities in India, renowned for the Vishnupad Temple and the ancient rituals of Pitru Paksha. Pilgrims visit Gaya to perform pind daan along the banks of the Falgu river — a ceremony believed to bring peace to ancestors. The city is also the gateway to Bodhgaya, just 12 km away, where Buddha attained enlightenment.
